Dragon Firepit

Our client Ian had seen a dragon firepit made by an artist in the UK and had sent me a picture. He wanted something similar for himself. I am always careful to not ‘copy’ another artists work, and we set about creating our own unique dragon design. The concept was to have the dragon swooping down from above to face the brave knight, and after a lot of drawing I think we got it right.

This spherical firepit is one of my favourites for its simplicity, yet it is striking to look at. As a final touch I heated the dragon’s spine scales and bent them up making the ridgeline stand out of the sphere.
