Sticks and Wombat – The Block

I got a call from Wombat on a Wednesday afternoon asking if I watch The Block. He explained that he and his mate Sticks were competitors on the show and had seen our custom spherical firepit’s on Facebook. They were keen to get one made up for their house for Landscape week.

In typical Block fashion, they needed it delivered on the coming Saturday. That only gave me two days to work with them on a design, draw it up, get the ok, cut it out, chip, grind and weld it all together, then drive it down to Melbourne and deliver it. Needless to say I had some very long days but we got it done and made the delivery on time.

The design was based around the theme of their yard, with a Japanese garden feel. It includes bamboo, Japanese cherry blossoms, and Japanese maple, all capped off with a traditional Japanese Torii entry gate.

It was great to be involved in this build, the backyard was in absolute chaos when we delivered it, but I think it fits in beautifully in their yard!
